Both import and update setup is executed in four steps. Go to Data Import and Data Update sections for a more complete explanation of each step.
Step 1. Upload File
Validate your CSV file, preview data, and select columns for import setup
Step 2. Connect App
Select your app and connect your app account. It must be noted that connecting your live account is not essential to continue with your setup and can be done at any time.
Choose Data Import or Data Update, then click on a data object that you want to upload into your app.
Perform mapping and link your records. Data Import offers additional functionality, which you may read about here.
When ready, you may start your import. However, for this to work, you must have a live app account connected to Loader. You can do this in My Apps or by clicking Choose Account at any step of the setup.
To modify any import setup, such as changing the account, app, or mappings, switch between setup steps by clicking Back and Next. All adjustments will be saved automatically. However, to change the CSV file, you would need to upload a new CSV file.
